Hi Victorious! Listen, the pictures of Olia's work is not necessarily designs you could carve with bone. I think she would like to design something simple and have you try to carve it or make it. You should continue the conversation together and see what's possible!

Hi Victorious! Its great to be in contact with you! I got some samples of your bone beads few days ago and I am very excited about their potential. I will have some photos sent over of my designs to you but I would like to design something specific for this material and see if you would be interested in executing it. I will be working on it this week.
I also agree that wearing masks while filing the bones is a great idea :) Even if you can cover your nose and mouth with any sort of cloth, I think it will help.

Helo Gitman! We have only worked with bone but its possible to use other materials. We would love to have as many ideas as possible.our marlet is very much local. We supply local traders here in nairobi. I think you have heard of maasai market,we supply them too. About getting some of the bone pellets we use, i think if we liase with melanda and leba,its possible you can get some and any other material.

Hello Mr. Sutherland. Thanks very much for your interest in our group. The dust from the bones does affect us. It makes coughin and sneezing worse wen flu is prevalent like in rainy season.we have done any medical tests to know if it causes asthma but we believe it can make a situation worse. There is no otherway of doing this except to use the right clothing; helmets, masks, dustcoats and a well ventilated workshop. This we believe will help. Thank you very much.

quick question, is there anyway to get any of the beads they make so I can play with them to come up with some ideas?
My first idea right away is to mix their stuff with chains, they don't seem to do that now but if they put one of those beads on
a could brass chain it could be a cute pendant. Also, what is their market, who do they sell to?
If they can carve that is great! They can carve out pretty stuff like the leaves or anything. That stuff could be very trendy here.
Can I give ideas on the bead shapes and colors too or just manipulating them. That's fine with me either way, just wondering.
You know most of my work involves chain and wire. I use more expensive gold filled and silver wire but they can use base metal and
brass and come up with stuff that looks different.
This is a fun project :)

I'm not a jewelry designer, so I can't help you there, but am curious if the dust from these bones is harmful. Does anyone ever get sick? Asthma? Is there a safer way to make the jewelry?
