The Kinari Small-Scale Self Help Group are a collection of market stall sellers who have come together to plan for their collective future in an innovative way. In addition to running a side business of a sanitation (toilet) block in the market that generates extra income while providing a much-needed public service, the group are working towards their vision of purchasing land to communally farm. They see this as a natural link to their current occupation of fruit and vegetable sellers, hoping to grow their own organic produce for sale while also feeding their families and ensuring their children’s future through the productive use of the planned farm land.
