This is great work!
Where does the garabage go once collected? Are there any recycling or composting projects?
Thanks for making this world a better place!

Thank you for your question.in slums ereas city council does not collect garbage waste,in fact thats why we initiated a youth group to collect waste and clean up our environment.we pay the council a subsidized amaunt to collect the waste.

It's great that we're getting loans as opposed to donations.
The obligation to pay back will ensure that we engage in projects that will eventually be self-sustaining and that's what we want.

Is it a donation or a loan?

While we had all the UEP groups together today, an interesting discussion came out. Generally, not only informal settlements but also poorer neighbourhoods do not receive municipal services... due to corruption, areas that can and do pay get the attention... even though the city is supposed to provide free public services equally. /Melanda with the UEP Groups

City council didn't plan for the slum areas, and it is out of their mandate to collect garbage here. NSYG (Nairobi South) actually took and uploaded this photo... =)

Hello. Question for the youth groups. Does the city come and pick-up the garbage if you gather it for them? Do they offer any services in your community?
